Why do my migraines keep coming back even when I avoid triggers?

Many people focus on avoiding common triggers such as certain foods, lack of sleep, or bright lights. While those factors can play a role, recurring migraines often reflect a deeper imbalance in the body’s stress response, nervous system regulation, or overall resilience. My work focuses on supporting the body’s internal environment — including gut health and the nervous system — so it becomes less reactive over time.

I’ve tried so many things for my migraines. How is your approach different?

Many migraine approaches focus primarily on treating an attack once it has already begun. My approach looks at the bigger picture — including gut health, stress patterns, lifestyle habits, and nervous system balance — to understand what might be lowering the body’s threshold and making migraines more likely to occur.

I feel like my body is constantly on edge. Could that be connected to my migraines?

It can be. The nervous system and the brain are closely connected, and prolonged stress can keep the body in a heightened state of alertness. When the nervous system remains in this state for long periods, it may make the body more sensitive to triggers and contribute to recurring migraines. Supporting nervous system regulation is often an important part of restoring balance.
